What brought me to USPS

For over 2 years I have had a personal mailbox outside of the Unites States Postal Service (USPS). One of the reason’s USPS is going out of business, nobody knows what’s going on at the office. When I was younger, my parents like many American families had a PO Box and they would also receive mail at our house.  The use for it never made any sense but being in a room with over a hundred mailboxes always fascinated me.

From my writing, hopefully you’ve determined that I get into a lot of trouble and I am a curious about almost anything. Furthermore, the days of me driving to the postal office for a leisure adventure were long gone. It is imperative as a millennial and urban dweller that everything is either in walking distance or a quick cab ride over. However, this is not the case for the USPS.

Why I bought a personal mailbox

Having personal mailbox gave me access to a plethora of things in Miami. For one, you could not get any business licenses with a PO Box. Therefore, I knew that getting one would mean the death of a idea bubbling in my head for a business. To add more insult to injury, during the time I got the idea my current job was as a server for a chain restaurant. This made me even more motivated to find a solution around this problem. The personal mailbox was a bit more expensive but very convenient in their hours. Staying open until 6:00 PM downtown made sense to me.

The slow death of the USPS

The USPS will have a slow death in the collective consciousness of most Americans. I do see the purpose in regards to pricing. However, to sit and wait 30 minutes for a stamp are long gone.
