Creative Opportunities in Miami: WhoIsDésir® Is Connecting With Local Talent

Miami’s creative community continues to produce compelling visual stories, original concepts, and engaging digital content. From lifestyle photography and street interviews to short-form videos, social media campaigns, and behind-the-scenes production, South Florida offers a diverse pool of emerging and experienced talent.

As part of its creative outreach, WhoIsDésir® is connecting with photographers, videographers, content creators, influencers, and on-camera talent interested in collaborating on creative projects.

Whether you’re building your portfolio, sharpening your production skills, pursuing creative work alongside your current commitments, or expanding your professional network, this is an opportunity to introduce yourself and share what you do best.

Who Is WhoIsDésir® Looking to Connect With?

We’re interested in creative individuals who bring originality, reliability, strong communication, and a collaborative mindset to their work.

You don’t need an extensive résumé to introduce yourself. Students, recent graduates, self-taught creatives, freelancers, working professionals, and experienced talent are encouraged to express interest.

Whether you’re looking for occasional projects, part-time opportunities, or creative collaborations that complement your existing commitments, the right fit will depend on your skills, availability, and the needs of each production.

1. Videographers & Camera Operators

Framing. Lighting. Movement.

Do you know how to frame compelling shots, work with available or artificial lighting, move the camera effectively, and capture footage that communicates a story?

We’re interested in videographers and camera operators who understand the fundamentals of visual production and can contribute to interviews, lifestyle shoots, promotional videos, event coverage, and other creative projects.

Relevant skills may include:

  • Camera operation, framing, and shot composition.
  • Lighting techniques for different environments.
  • Camera movement and capturing smooth, intentional footage.
  • Basic audio awareness and production setup.
  • Following a shot list or translating a creative brief into usable footage.

What to submit: A demo reel, selected video clips, camera-work samples, or links to previous productions. Briefly explain your role in each project, especially if you collaborated with a team.

2. Photographers

Portraits. Lifestyle. Visual Storytelling.

Photography is about more than capturing an image. It involves understanding composition, lighting, timing, and the story a photograph communicates.

We’re looking to connect with photographers who can capture people, places, products, events, and lifestyle moments with intention and creativity.

Relevant work may include:

  • Portraits and personal branding photography.
  • Lifestyle and candid photography.
  • Product and promotional imagery.
  • Event photography and behind-the-scenes coverage.
  • Visual storytelling for social media and digital campaigns.

You don’t need hundreds of images to demonstrate your ability. A small, carefully selected portfolio can communicate your style and technical strengths more effectively than a large collection of unrelated photographs.

What to submit: A portfolio, online gallery, or selection of your strongest photographs. Let us know whether you specialize in portraits, lifestyle, events, products, or another area.

3. Short-Form Content Creators

Reels. TikToks. Platform-Native Pacing.

Can you turn an idea into a short video that captures attention and keeps viewers interested?

We’re interested in creators who understand short-form storytelling, effective hooks, editing, pacing, captions, and the distinct creative styles used across social platforms.

Potential skills include:

  • Creating Instagram Reels and TikTok videos.
  • Developing engaging openings and concise storylines.
  • Editing vertical video for mobile viewing.
  • Using pacing, transitions, captions, and sound effectively.
  • Adapting content to the intended audience and platform.
  • Turning a creative brief into engaging, well-organized content.

We’re interested in people who understand that strong content isn’t just about following trends. It’s also about communicating an idea clearly and making creative choices that support the project’s purpose.

What to submit: Links to Reels, TikToks, short-form videos, sample edits, or personal projects. If you have experience filming, editing, scripting, or managing the entire creative process, tell us which parts you handled.

4. Influencers & On-Camera Personalities

Hosting. Interviewing. Presenting.

Are you comfortable speaking on camera, connecting with an audience, asking questions, or presenting a topic naturally?

We’re interested in influencers, presenters, hosts, interviewers, and emerging on-camera personalities who can bring energy, personality, and clear communication to creative productions.

Relevant experience or interests may include:

  • Hosting and presenting.
  • Street interviews and public-facing content.
  • Lifestyle, culture, and entertainment videos.
  • Product demonstrations and promotional segments.
  • Interviewing guests and asking engaging questions.
  • On-camera storytelling, commentary, and personality-driven content.

You don’t need a massive following to introduce yourself. We’re interested in your ability to communicate, connect with people, and contribute to a project. Audience size alone does not determine creative fit.

What to submit: A short introduction video, interview sample, hosting clip, relevant social media content, or other on-camera work. If you have an established audience, you may also share your public creator profile.

5. Skits, Interviews & BTS Creators

Storytellers. Performers. Production Crew.

Some creative projects begin with a script or interview question. Others develop through spontaneous moments, collaborative ideas, and the people working behind the scenes.

We’re interested in creatives who enjoy storytelling, comedy, interviewing, performance, and the practical work involved in bringing a production together.

Depending on the project, relevant contributions may include:

  • Developing concepts and writing short skits.
  • Performing in comedy, lifestyle, or scripted scenes.
  • Conducting interviews and helping conversations flow.
  • Capturing behind-the-scenes footage and production moments.
  • Assisting with shoot preparation, props, and on-set coordination.
  • Supporting creative teams with practical production tasks.

You may be someone who enjoys being on camera, someone who prefers working behind it, or someone who can contribute in both capacities.

What to submit: A skit, performance clip, interview sample, behind-the-scenes Reel, writing sample, or brief description of your production skills. Explain whether you prefer performing, developing ideas, supporting production, or combining several roles.

6. Campaign Field Outreach & Poll Site Volunteers

Community Ambassadors. Voter Outreach Representatives. Field Team Members.

Successful campaigns depend on people who are willing to show up, engage with their communities, and support campaign operations on the ground.

The Kedner Maxime campaign is seeking dependable, outgoing, and community-minded volunteers to assist with voter outreach and campaign visibility.

Volunteers will help distribute campaign literature, including flyers and candidate information, at designated campaign outreach locations outside legally restricted polling-place areas.

Depending on the assignment, responsibilities may include:

  • Driving to more than one campaign site if necessary.
  • Distributing Kedner Maxime campaign flyers and literature.
  • Helping increase campaign visibility within the community.
  • Greeting community members and engaging in respectful conversations.
  • Sharing approved campaign information with interested voters.
  • Encouraging community participation in the election.
  • Supporting campaign field operations and scheduled outreach activities.
  • Maintaining an organized supply of campaign materials.
  • Reporting volunteer attendance and outreach activity to the field coordinator.
  • Helping with campaign setup, cleanup, and material distribution.

You should be comfortable interacting with members of the public, standing for extended periods, following campaign instructions, and representing the campaign professionally.

Whether you have previous campaign experience or are interested in getting involved in community-based political outreach, we welcome your interest.

What to submit: A brief introduction explaining your interest in volunteering, your availability, preferred volunteer location, and any previous experience in community outreach, customer service, public engagement, or political campaigns.

Commitment: Volunteer assignments will be coordinated according to campaign needs, polling schedules, and location availability.

What Types of Creative Projects May Be Available?

Project needs vary according to the production’s objectives, location, schedule, and budget. Depending on the opportunity, assignments may involve:

  • Photography sessions and visual content shoots.
  • Video production, camera operation, and lighting.
  • Short-form social media videos and promotional content.
  • Interviews, street content, hosting, and on-camera segments.
  • Lifestyle, product, and brand-related imagery.
  • Skits, original concepts, and collaborative storytelling.
  • Behind-the-scenes documentation and production assistance.
  • Working polls

Not every role will be needed for every assignment. Each opportunity will have its own scope, qualifications, schedule, location, and deliverables.

Submitting your work allows WhoIsDésir® to learn about your capabilities and consider your profile for relevant projects. An application does not guarantee selection, employment, paid work, or a future assignment.

Can You Participate While Working or Attending School?

Yes, potentially. We’re interested in connecting with creatives whose skills and availability align with the practical requirements of a project.

Perhaps you’re balancing a job, attending the University of Miami, Florida International University, Florida Atlantic University, Florida Memorial University, Miami Media School, or a community college. You might also be freelancing, managing a business, or developing your own creative brand.

Depending on the opportunity and appropriate working arrangement, collaboration may involve scheduled shoots, occasional production days, part-time work, or project-based assignments.

Flexibility still requires accountability. Production schedules, call times, deadlines, locations, and delivery requirements must be communicated clearly and respected.

Tell us when you’re generally available, what roles interest you, and whether you can travel to relevant production locations. Specific schedules, compensation, deliverables, and other terms will be discussed before you accept an assignment.

Do You Need Professional Experience?

Not necessarily. A traditional résumé can be helpful, but your work samples may provide a more direct demonstration of your creative abilities.

Depending on the role, you can share:

  • A photography portfolio or selected images.
  • A video demo reel or short-form content samples.
  • A public social media profile featuring relevant work.
  • An interview, presentation, or performance sample.
  • Personal projects, school assignments, or self-directed productions.
  • A brief explanation of your contribution to a collaborative project.

Represent your abilities honestly. Explain what you can do, which skills you’re developing, and the kinds of projects you’d like to explore.

What Should You Submit?

A strong introduction gives us a clear understanding of your creative direction, experience, and potential fit.

When submitting your information, include:

  1. Your name and contact information. Provide an email address where you can be reached.
  2. Your creative role. Identify your specialty, such as videography, photography, short-form content, on-camera presenting, or production support.
  3. Your portfolio or work samples. Share a link that opens correctly and demonstrates relevant skills.
  4. Your location. Let us know whether you’re based in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach County, Orlando, or another area.
  5. Your general availability. Explain which days or times may work for you.
  6. Your equipment and skills. Mention relevant cameras, lighting, editing software, audio equipment, or other capabilities.
  7. Your transportation availability. Indicate whether you can reliably reach locations required for assignments you choose to accept.
  8. A short introduction. Tell us what you enjoy creating and what types of projects interest you.

A long résumé or elaborate application isn’t necessary to introduce yourself. Start with your strongest examples and a clear description of what you bring to the work.

As I continue building my current business and learning about new opportunities, why you should invest in your future today has come to my mind often.

Many entrepreneurs around the world are investing in our financial future. We know that depending on Social Security benefits, and in some cases, retirement plans, may not be the only way to earn a steady income in retirement. Investing has some benefits in alleviating the pain of not knowing if you’ll be able to afford it during retirement.
